Anonymous asked: Hello friend. I am a possible future convert to Islam, and I know very little right now, but I have to ask you: you made a post a few months ago about your fears for converted muslims, and one is that they would be mislead by Sufi, Farrakhanism, and Shia. What is it about these groups that you believe are misleading or not truly Islam? Are they not also muslim siblings to you, as they believe in Allah and his prophet? (pbuh)
Good question. I’ll try my best to answer it.
Firstly, I am not a scholar or have much knowledge to give you a complete answer. May Allah forgive me if I made a mistake.
As much as the muslims want to spread this idea of ONE UMMAH (Nation) and that we’re all brothers and sisters of Islam, unfortunately that’s not the case. The ummah has split into so many sections and this is something that the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him has said: "My Ummah will be divided into 73 sects. All of them will be in the Hell-Fire except for one sect.”
Allah The Most High says in the Quran:
“Say (O Muhammad): This is my path, I invite to Allaah upon clear knowledge, me and those who follow me.” [Sooratul-An’aam 8:153]
The few sects that I mentioned in my previous post are the or under the branches of those 72 sects. For they have invented new matters into the religion that the Prophet Peace and Blessings be upon him or his companions were NOT upon. They call to Shirk (Worshiping others along side Allah) and this is the total opposite of Islam as the first pillar of Islam is None has the right to be worshiped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
They have spread lies about the religion that opposes the Quran and Sunnah and followed their desires. And this is to be rejected as the Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him said: “Whoever does an action not in accordance with our matter, it will be rejected.” [Related by Muslim (no. 1718).]
But who are the saved sect?
The only sect that will be safe is Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, who adhere to the Sunnah of the Prophet sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam, and hold fast to what he and his Companionship, may Allaah be pleased with them, were holding.
I advice you to stay clear from those who split up the ummah and follow their desires. If you accept Islam as your religion, then I advice you to cling to the Quran and Sunnah as the Pious Predecessors did and I also advice you spend more time learning about what Islam is about and it’s belief system. If Allah Wills.
